Since apparently Lisa isn’t getting the respect she deserves during negotiations, it is up to us to show her just how much we appreciate the hard work she’s put in over the course of her career.  She’s entertained & united fans across the globe. 

Her birthday is right around the corner (May 21).  As most of you know, over the past few months, I have been collecting entries for her birthday gift - a vegetarian cookbook from her fans.  After today’s status update on contract negotiations, I’ve decided to extend the deadline in order to allow more people to show their appreciation for LE.

Originally, the cookbook was to be sent to the printer 5/7.  However, I have pushed this back to May 15th.  I will be in NYC next week & will send the project to print when I return.  This will mean that it will arrive in LA after her birthday; however, I’d rather include more fans able to participate than worry about it being in LA on the 21st (especially since she tends to travel all summer & probably won’t be in LA then anyway). 

The cookbook also has a name!  “Baleboosteh: Recipes Fit for a <[H]uddy> Queen”

SO - that being said - if you haven’t heard about the cookbook, here are the details.

(1) Send in a recipe.  It can be any type (entree, snack, dessert, etc).  We are unsure what Lisa’s exact dietary rules are, so the only requirement that I’m putting in is that its no meat.   If you can make it gluten free that’s even better; however, it is hard for those of us that don’t live our lives that way.  So, don’t let it stop you from contributing.  I’m sure Lisa has plenty of practice altering recipes to fit her own diet.  And its the thought that counts!

(2) Include the name (and/or twitter ID) that you want printed with your recipe.  For US residents, include your state.  For others, include your country (you can be more specific if you want). 

(3) You may include a photo if you’d like (optional).  Preferably one of you with the dish, you cooking or the dish itself; however, if you don’t have one that is fine too.

(4) Please include what kind of dish your recipe would be considered.  Is it a appetizer, side, entree, dessert, snack, etc?  This will help me categorize/organize the book faster & easier.

(5) Please translate the recipes into English so I can read them :-)

(6) Please put “Lisa cookbook” Or something like that in the subject line.

(7) After my initial post, a lot of people expressed interest in contributing to the cost of the project.  Initially, I hadn’t planned on asking for any donation; however, with donation, I’ll be able to include more recipes & photos (as each page is an extra $0.60).  I am also able to do a bigger sized book with a higher quality company than I initially thought I could. 

I’m not doing this to make money (just to show fan support for LE).  So, if more donations come in than the total cost of the book, I will not be keeping any of it.  I will be sending the extra to the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary (one of Lisa’s favorite charities).  I will include a special note about this donation with the book so that Lisa knows that her fans have contributed to BFAS in her honor. Now more than ever, the fans needs to show their support.  I’m even more revved up & inspired now to make something amazing for Lisa.  I want to thank everyone that has already contributed.  I think..no..I KNOW…that Lisa is going to be EXTREMELY touched by this.  To my knowledge, nothing like this has been sent for her in the past…I bet Jesse’ll be jealous ;-)  As I said, I’ll be away next week so online time will be limited or non-existent.  I’m counting on Lisa’s fanbase to spread the word about this.  Take it to the message boards, Twitter, etc.

Also @HOUSEonFOX can decorate a turd as much as they want - but without LE & RSL, it’s just shit with fancy effects & lighting. You can’t be ground breaking without the acting talent to back it up!

Yes, when the show had the power & the $, using all the cutting edge techniques & breaking the mold was a good thing.  But what good is all of that if you stars (and fans) have to pay for it? 

The reason that all those special effects worked, was because they were the cherry on top.  But without LE & RSL, there is no sustenance. 

If they refuse to cut production costs & choose to cut the screen time & salary of the original cast members instead…then what they’re saying is they care more for tricks than talent.  And that they will not be loyal to the cast that has busted their asses over 7 years to give their all both on screen & off to make the show a hit.

No offense to other car makers, but this is why I drive a Toyota instead of Ford, Kia, etc.  My Toyota has no special features..no back up camera, heated seats, automatic start, high end stereo, etc…but I would much rather know that my car was going to get me there safely for years, then be broken down on the side of the road with all my toys.  For the same amount of money, I chose to get performance instead of gimmicks. 

I hope they decide to back off of the smoke & mirrors thing & realize they NEED Lisa & RSL in EVERY episode & in quality ways (not just one liners here & there).  They don’t NEED expensive special effects.    Its time to go back to basics. Phenomenal talent acting out intriguing/witty scripts without all the bells & whistles.  If you can’t afford both, go back to what made the show amazing to begin with…HL, RSL & LE’s chemistry & unsurpassed talent!

If @HOUSEonFOX thinks that viewers will tune in without @LisaEdelstein & RSL…they’re fooling themselves. LESS of those talents is what got them the low ratings to begin with.  You’re going to cut pay & screen time for a PCA winner? 

Lisa E centric episodes (5to9, Bombshells, Family Practice) have been among the highest rated episodes in the past 2 years.  #5to9 Trended on SUPER BOWL SUNDAY… it wasn’t until the powers that be killed Huddy that the rating took that sharp turn for the worse.  A majority of fans did not care for the Taub centered storylines.  If you want to cut something out, start with that.  This is beyond asshood!

The ratings have been steadily declining since Huddy broke & House went back to his old ways.  And now, LE, RSL, OE & the fans will be punished for the story line decision.

As of today, we have 9 contributors from 5 countries (USA, France, Bulgaria, Brazil, Argentina) that have turned in recipes. (There has been alot of other interest, but this is just going on what has actually been turned in)

Don’t forget to send them in.  If you’re not able to meet the deadline (4/15), let me know.  I want to send the book off to the publishers by the end of the month.  I hope to have it back in my hands when I get back from vacation mid-May so I can forward it on to Lisa’s people who will hold it for her until she returns to LA (I assume she’ll be traveling all summer like she normally does).

As Lisa fans know, her birthday is just around the corner.   Another fact that most Lisa fans know is she LOVES cookbooks.

So what better gift to send her than a cookbook from the fans!

I’ll be compiling vegetarian/vegan recipes from her fans all around the world and having them published into a book. 

Don’t worry, it will get to the Huddy Queen :)

So dig into your family cookbooks and find your favorite recipe.  You can include a photo if you’d like..perhaps one of you with the dish (something like this photo)  Since the cost of the book will be coming out of my pocket, I’ll try to include as many photos as I can afford.

Please spread the word to as many Lisa E fans in as many countries as you can. 

Send your recipes/photos to daphne.saxton@gmail.com by April 15th.  This will give me time to create the book, have it printed and mail it to California.  Please include ‘cookbook’ ‘Lisa’s B-day’ or something like that in the subject line.
